Abu Dhabi: A total of 10,000 low-income frontline workers will benefit from extensive health insurance coverage for themselves and their families.

The initiative was announced by the Frontline Heroes Office, following its partnership with the National Health Insurance Company – Daman. Eligible frontline professionals will benefit from expanded coverage that will match the benefits offered to expatriate Abu Dhabi government employees. The device will be implemented from February 1.

This initiative ensures that our frontline professionals in need will have better access to medical care, ”said Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of the Frontline Heroes Office, said:

The Frontline Heroes Office Supplemental Insurance Program was developed in direct response to the results of a survey of more than 8,000 frontline professionals working in healthcare facilities in the United Arab Emirates and in entities responsible for health care. sanitation and prevention. A major challenge identified during the investigation was the overall health and well-being of frontline professionals during the pandemic.

New program

The new program will be administered by Daman, who will work directly with employers to identify and register eligible frontline professionals in the program. its network of facilities.

The new 12-month supplemental program covers deductibles and coinsurance that are set in beneficiaries’ existing health insurance plans, such as those set for consultations and pharmaceuticals. In addition, those whose plans have annual pharmaceutical coverage limits will receive additional coverage of up to Dh3,000 if they exceed the limit set.
