Anne Trautner appointed Executive Director of Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center in Kewaskum
November 8, 2021 – Kewaskum, WI – Anne Trautner has been appointed the new Executive Director of the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center in Kewaskum.
As a reporter for the Statesman, Trautner has closely followed the progress of the 9/11 Memorial. Currently the clerk of the City of KewaskumTrautner said she could keep her other jobs while managing this part-time position.
Trautner said it was an honor to represent the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial and Education Center.
“So many people, organizations and businesses have donated their time and resources to create such an important memorial to the state, and I am proud to be a part of it,” she said. .
Trautner will focus his efforts on maintaining the memorial, raising funds and creating events to help promote and educate about the significance of 9/11.
“I look forward to working with the Board of Directors to plan events and programs, as well as to develop a strategic plan to ensure sufficient funds are generated to properly care for this magnificent memorial for years to come. In addition, I am very excited about the opportunity to offer educational programs for residents and students across the state. The Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial and Education Center provides a unique opportunity for people to come together and remember, reflect and learn.
The 9/11 Memorial is centered around a steel beam salvaged from the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The memorial not only honors those who perished, including Kewaskum graduate Andrea Lyn Haberman, but also all those who responded to the 9/11 atrocities.
The memorial will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 1 p.m.
