New Delhi: Striving to foster an egalitarian and inclusive culture, the Tata Group announced on Tuesday that its group companies such as TCS, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and Tata Consumer Products Ltd have extended health insurance to partners of LGBTQ+ employees.
The news falls during Pride Month which is dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community. From medical insurance for same-sex partners, menstrual leave to medical reimbursement for IVF, several Tata companies are creating a level playing field for all employees.

Benefits for LGBTQ+ employees at Tata

“Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) provides medical reimbursement for IVF treatments, while Tata Steel offers menstrual leave. Our TCS and Tata Steel also support employees seeking gender affirmation surgeries with medical leave and period leave. financial aid,” the group announced on social media.

It comes days after the group announced that Tata Steel had become the first company in the country to open up grassroots mining operations to the transgender community. “Tata Steel has integrated transgender people as heavy earth-moving machinery operators (HEMMs) and apprentice crane operators in its mines,” the steel giant announced on social media last week.
