Liberia: Insurance group embarks on raising awareness of life and medical insurance

Monrovia – Ensuring your life and medical expenses are covered by an insurance plan is one of the surest ways to live a life with fewer worries. That is why; the African Insurance Company (ICA) has embarked on an awareness campaign with government departments and agencies to ensure that employees are aware of the need and benefits of being covered.

ICA’s outreach activity on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, took a high-level delegation of company executives to the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT), on the hill of Capitol in Monrovia and met with a range of officials including the Deputy Minister, Director and Ministry staff.

During the deliberation, the benefits of being covered by the life and medical insurance policies were discussed in depth by the company’s Marketing Manager, MG Varney Gray, along with the contributions expected from each employee.

And in response, employees, through the secretary general of their union, expressed their satisfaction and their willingness to participate in politics. Mr. Jemual J. Kullie, said he was particularly excited to join the ICA family, not least because of its reputation and credibility.

He explained that it had been a long time since the workers had an insurance plan. And it was agreed that the two parties would begin implementing the policy after the remaining modalities are concluded.

The ICA delegation, which included G. Varney Gray Head of Marketing, Nicholas O. Mingle Sales Manager, Massa Jallah Supervisor, Leonora Edo Bendu, Marketing Assistant and Catherine N. Gbokpa Sales Representative met the workers in the conference room Charles Gbenyon from the ministry, and members of the ministry hierarchy present were the Deputy Minister for Administration, Hon. Jurah AM Sanoe and Director of Human Resources, Ms. Lucia Gibson.

The Africa Insurance Company, also known as ICA, was established in 1969 by an Act of the National Legislature. It is the pioneer of the insurance industry in Liberia being the oldest insurance company.
