KEY ACTION: Approval of the new insurance plan.

DISCUSSION: Andy Leitch of the Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority (OTARMA) said the new policy increases the value of township buildings by $2.7 million and physical vehicles by $3.6 million. The new policy also includes surety bonds and a

cyberpolitics.

The township will void its previous coverage and expect a pro-rated refund of the $21,000 semi-annual premium.

The new coverage will come into effect on July 15 at a cost of $44,519 per year. As new equipment is added, OTARMA should be notified. Rates will drop as the 1,000 townships currently registered with OTARMA grow, according to Leitch.

OTHER ACTION:

  • Tax office approved payments of $2,511 to Ohio billing for June and $997.90 to Stark County Metropolitan Sewer District for two bills.
  • Approved the change in status of Dave and Chris Hallas from part-time to full-time firefighters, effective August 1 and July 14 respectively, with an hourly rate of $21.50 per hour. They are father and son.
  • Accepted the resignation of firefighter Adam Gladtsz, effective July 14.
  • Approved $9,550 appraisal for demolition and $250 charges at 9055 Columbus Road NE.
