SBCSC Holds Two Public Comment Meetings for its Facility Master Plan

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Community School Corporation has announced two meeting dates that invite the public to provide feedback on the school district’s facilities master plan.

Guests are invited to provide commentary on discerning topics from the Society’s Choice Programs, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, Fine Arts, Athletics and more.

“This is a vital step towards a better performing district, and we cannot continue without a careful examination of the current culture – where we are now, where we belong and how we can improve and redesign our environment to the success of our students, teachers, families and the entire South Bend community,” said Kareemah Fowler, Deputy Superintendent of Business and Finance for the SBCSC.

Changes for district schools that require public input include: the educational framework; demography; conditions; and funding.

The first meeting will be at the Brown Community Learning Center, 737 Beale Street, March 19 from 9-11 a.m.

The second meeting will be at the Charles Black Community Center, 3419 West Washington St., on May 5 from 5-7 p.m.

Anyone with questions about these upcoming public consultation meetings can call 574-393-6180 or email [email protected] for more information.
